Battle of the Bikes and On Yer Bikes

Obree and Boardman are in every way at the opposite ends of the spectrum… Obree's eccentric character takes him out of any catergory
"Obree lives with his instinct, his feeling, which dictates his way of life…"
..........there’s little doubt that the two men really do come from different planets. It’s our good fortune that we were around to see their close encounters, and that we can buy this record of the event." Ray Minovi

The brillant film, Battle of the Bikes, looks at the Scottish rider Graeme Obree - famous for building his own bike out of washing machine parts and riding it in his own unique crouched position - the '94 World Hour Record holder, and his great rival from the Wirral, the '92 Olympic Pursuit Champion Chris Boardman, who achieved his first World Hour record just six days after Obree. Inspired by cycling journalist Adam Glasser, this film remains to this day, an utterly fascinating record of man and machine competing head to head.
Also inspired by Adam Glasser, the second film, On Yer Bike, is an intimate portrait of Obree from his early days as an amateur cyclist to a World Hour Record holder, World Champion and international cycling star and the intriguing and controversial story of the banning by the UCI of his unique riding position and his bike, 'Old Faithful'.
Next is an exclusive interview filmed at Herne Hill with former British national coach Doug Dailey, who was trackside at Boardman and Obree's biggest victories. He gives us a unique insight into their individual characters and talks about their special rivalry.
