Powerful stuff....full of evocative black and white images of Le Tour..'
Sunday Independent
An absorbing documentary chronicling the life of Ireland's first professional cyclist.
A pioneer in joining a Continental European team long before Irish legends, Sean Kelly and Stephen Roche found fame and fortune, Elliott was a hero of the cycling world and enjoyed the trappings of sporting stardom. But as his professional career came to a close, his personal life began to unravel, costing him his savings, his marriage, and ultimately concluding in his untimley and tragic death in 1971.

Directed by Martin Dwan, the film looks at the various prestigious races which Elliott nearly won - and the evidence that he was cheated out of many victories, including the World's - and contains interviews with those cyclists who knew him and who respect for his brillance was matched only by their bewilderment at the scale of his tragedy.

The strength of this moving film is that Elliott is portrayed, not as some detached sports star but as a regular guy who was simply struggling to come to terms with the downward spiral into which he found his life descending.
